Don’t children just love birthdays! It is the perfect time to play and have fun, and what better way to do that than to dress up in a  fancy dress costume  and play at being a princess or or a clown

Children’s birthday parties are usually a much larger event than any adult’s birthday party, and obviously this means that a lot more effort has to be put in to make it a perfect event. Girls specially love having a fantasy setting with lots of other things such as games, beautiful cake, fancy dresses and lot of decoration.

One of the most popular themes at children’s birthday parties is fancy dress. Since all children like dressing up as their favourite superhero or fairy story character, a birthday allows them to dress up and really show off in front of their peers and enjoy a night as someone else.

A favourite costume for girls is dressing up as a princess. Princess themes are really popular not just because of the many cartoons that feature beautiful princesses, but also because this allows the little girls to get their wish of dressing up like their mothers and look grown up.

Or they might want to play with the magic of being Tinkerbell, along with the amazing fantasy adventures of Peter Pan

If your daughter wants a princess costume, don’t worry. It isn’t as complicated as it sounds. While you can definitely buy the entire costume at a children’s store, you can also save some money and conjure one up by yourself with the things you have in your home.

To start with, you will need to figure out the main dress. For this, you should look for a fancy dress that your daughter already has. If you don’t have a dress in the house that you could use, ask friends who have daughters that are older than yours and see if they have an old one lying around which they can give to you. It’s a plus point If the dress is in pastel colours, or is white. If it’s in some dark colour, then you can either consider bleaching and dying it (with the owner’s permission of course), or ask your daughter if she is ok with the darker colour.

Now that the dress is here, you need to change it (again, with the owner’s permission). Feel free to add as many ruffles, feathers, beads, or any other fancy embellishments onto it as you think your daughter will like. Make sure, you don’t make it too heavy or awkward to wear, and that it doesn’t end up looking funny.

Moving on, you will need to make a tiara and wand, and other accessories. You can get your little tot to help you with this. Give her some tin foil and ask her to bend it into bracelets, rings, or other jewellery she wants to wear. While she does this, you can take plastic tubing and cut-out a star shape from some cardboard. Join these two into a wand shape, and then put some pink (or any colour that looks good with the dress) ribbon all around it and glue it together. If you want, you can make a tiara or a pointy hat with some cardboard too. Just make sure that the tiara is silver in colour and fits your daughter’s head comfortably.

That’s it. That’s all it takes to make a perfect fancy dress costume for a birthday party at almost no cost.

Dressing up for halloween might include a mask as well as a halloween costume

If you have already started to plan this year’s Halloween costume, you might have taken some time to look in a costume store or two or check out the selections online.

A major part of the costume industry includes Halloween masks. A popular part of Halloween celebrations, Halloween masks are not the answer to everyone’s costume needs. Here is a look at the good and bad of this Halloween accessory.

The good

One of the best aspects of Halloween masks is that they disguise who you are quite thoroughly. Whether you choose a Halloween mask that covers your entire face and head, or just a portion, the final effect of either is that it alters the shape of your face. This can make it even more difficult to recognize you than it would be with merely face paint.

Another positive of Halloween masks is that they are very simple to use.

If you paint your face, you will need a good deal of time, patience, and some artistic talent to get the right effect.

With a Halloween mask, you simply slip it on and you are ready to go.

Masks can also be an inexpensive costume idea. By wearing a solid colored outfit and slipping on a mask, you can instantly become the character that the mask represents – other accessories are optional. You can even combine Halloween masks with your everyday clothing to become a zombie doctor, a cat who is a chef, or other unique idea.

The bad

Masks for Halloween  can be dangerous if they are worn improperly. Special care should be taken to make sure that the mask does not block your vision or your breathing. This is particularly true with  children’s costumes , since an improperly fitting mask could cause them to injure themselves while out trick or treating. You will want to try the mask on to make sure that it fits properly before wearing it on Halloween night. Remove masks when driving to ensure that you are able to see properly.

Halloween masks can also be hot, so if your Halloween evening will be spent in a warmer climate or a crowded party room you may become uncomfortable rather quickly. If you feel that you are overheating, remove your mask. Also make sure that you drink plenty of water during your Halloween celebrations.

While Halloween masks can be an inexpensive alternative to a full costume, they can also become quite pricey. The more detailed a mask is, the higher the price tag will often be. So if you are on a budget, you may have to settle for a less detailed one, or an alternative like face painting, to achieve a similar effect.

Scary halloween masks can be an excellent addition to your Halloween costume, but they are not the perfect solution for everyone. Only you can decide if this  Halloween accessory  is right for you. If you purchase a mask and decide later on that it is not as comfortable or as safe as you would like, you can also use it as a creepy way to decorate your home.

Buy a half mask that leaves the bottom half of your face free or buy some stage make up and get your make up applied by a creative friend who can make you look like Wharf in Star Trek! Start with some red face paint; add a tache, small beard and the ridges on the forehead for a gruesomely ghoulish and fiendish outfit!!

Whats a really good Halloween 

Whats a good idea for a halloween costume without a mask or large bulky clothing? Keep in mind, I pushed this off until the last minute, so it should either be easy to make, or I should be able to purchase it somewhere (where its not sold out already). … or jut be nice and easy and go as a ghost then you can wear normal clothes underneath and just wear a sheet with eye holes!! or a nck hole and paint your face and spray your hair white hehe. How do you plan to party for Haloween

Well you could throw a perfect Halloween party by making every thing scary like if you were to do decoratins you have to go with skeleton and bats mabey some goughsts etc and for snacks you wanna make them look good but like scary so ad …. I have a scary old man face mask. Last year a little girl in a princess outfit. came around trick or treating. She said “that sure is a scary mask, mr.” This year I’m going to give them lot’s of candy and take pictures
